“Technology—no matter how well designed—is only a magnifier of human intent and capacity. It is not a substitute.” – Kentaro Toyama

Hello, my name is Eko Prasetyo. I am originally from Indonesia, and currently live with my partner, Ihar, in the UK.

I am an Associate Consultant at Panoply Digital. I recently worked as ICTs for Development Officer at Practical Action. Previously, I was a research consultant for citizen-generated data research project with Open Knowledge International.

I had been working for number of years when I left my country. I was a Policy Manager at World Wide Web Foundation's Open Data Lab Jakarta where I led and advocated open data initiatives. I managed Jhpiego's mHealth service and UNESCO Jakarta's eLearning programme.

I spent the first three years of my career working in data management with UNFAO and IOM. These works led me to study M.Sc. in ICTs for Development at the University of Manchester in 2011. A bit of shift from my undergraduate study, a BSc of Informatics at Islamic University of Indonesia , but I really enjoyed my course and the experience of studying abroad. You can visit my Linkedin profile.

Outside the office, I enjoy travelling, cycling on my single gear bike, taking photos and exploring the cities. Theatre, museum and independent cinema are my favourite places nowadays.

Drop me a line over here or @Talibambu if you'd like to be in touch.
